Original Japanese Woodblock Print Triptych Big Battle
This is a very beautiful, colorful, and special original Japanese woodblock print triptych “Big Battle” from an unknown artist made in December Meiji 18, which is 1885. This is an original woodblock print triptych about 132 years old. This triptych is one of the core collections of a large number of Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them. The three panels of this original triptych are separate. The size of each panel of this triptych is 14 x 9 1/2 inches. The publisher’s chop marks and publication date are at the lower left corner of the left panel. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the print. The triptych is attached to an old Japanese calligraphy Washi paper. Except for a minor vertical crease at the left edge of the left and middle panels, which has been fixed, this woodblock print triptych is in good condition. Please examine the photos. It is very hard to find an original woodblock print triptych of such a beautiful and special scene in the public nowadays and it is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.
