Description & History- This is a VERY LARGE, beautiful, and special LIMITED-NUMBER  (5/50) ORIGINAL Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print “Shisendo Sunset Scenery” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print Master Mikoho Kasamatsu (1932-), the daughter of Shiro Kasmatsu made in 1974 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an ORIGINAL woodblock print about 42 years old. This woodblock print is from Dr. Ben family seven-decade Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Arts collections.

Date of Creation- Original Japanese Woodblock Print, 1974

Print Size- 19 3/4 x 14 1/4 inches, which is much larger than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock print.

Print Condition- Shisendo is a Buddhist temple of the Soto Zen sect in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan. It is registered as a historic site of Japan. It stands on the grounds of its founder, the Edo period intellectual Ishikawa Jozan, who established the temple in 1641. The detailed information is at

The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  Four borders are intact.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding through can be seen from the back of the original mulberry paper.    The artist’s signature “Mikoho” is at the lower right corner of the image while the PENCIL written title of this woodblock print “Shisendo Sunset Scenery”, the year this print was made “1974” and the LIMITED-EDITION “5/50” and another mark “A9/5” are in the bottom border.   Except for some minor ink smearing in the bottom and right borders, which has been there since the print was first, made, this woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Payment- Any credit card, visa, master card, PayPal, bank and post office money order, cashier check and personal check are accepted.  Personal checks will take about ten days to clear. Texas residents need to pay 8.25% tax. 

Shipping- Shipping is $16 anywhere in US by USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.  Due to the recent postage raise for the large dimension international mail, international shipping charges are US$35 through 1st class airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing. If you choose to mail by international priority mail with tracking and limited insurance, it costs around $50.  We do combined shipping.  If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged. All items will be shipped together.
