Original Japanese Woodblock Print Kawarazaki 1958 Unsodo WATERMARK Heath Rose Bokeh

Description & History- This is a very beautiful and special ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print “Heath Rose, Bokeh” from the famous Taisho/Showa woodblock artist Kawarazaki Shodo (1889-1973) and published by the famous Unsodo Printmaker bearing the ORIGINAL UNSODO WATERMARK made in Showa 33, which is 1958 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an ORIGINAL woodblock print about 58 years old.  This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art.

Artist- Kawarazaki Shodo (1889-1973). Kawarazaki Shodo is best known for his woodblock prints of flowers and other plant life.

Medium- Original Japanese Woodblock Print

Date of Creation- Original Japanese Woodblock Print 1958s

Print Size- The print size is 16 x 10 3/4 inches.

Print Condition- The artist’s chop mark is at the lower left corner of this ORIGINAL woodblock print.  The chop stamp of the publisher Unsodo’s name is in the lower right border of the print while the title of the print,  the artist’s another chop mark, and the date this print was made “Showa 33”, which is 1958 are in the left border (margin).  At the end of the left border THERE IS AN ORIGINAL UNSODO WATERMARK.  This is the first Kanji character of the name of Unsodo, which means art.  In Japan, publishers usually only put this kind of WATERMAK on very expensive woodblock prints.   The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper. All four borders (margins) of the print are intact. This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Shipping- Shipping is $12 anywhere in US by USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.  International shipping charges are US$22 through 1st class airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing. If you choose to mail by international priority mail with tracking and limited insurance, it costs around $50.  We do combined shipping.  If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged. All items will be shipped together.
