Orig Japanese Woodblock Print Triptych Asanuma Russo-Japan War Cavalry Marching
This is a very beautiful, colorful, and rare ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print triptych “Cavalry Marching” from the rare Russo-Japan War Series signed by Meiji woodblock print master Asanuma, made in April Meiji 37, which is 1904. This is an original woodblock print about 115 years old. This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade Japanese woodblock print and Asian Art collections. Three Panels are separate. The size of each panel is 13 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches. The artist’s signature and his chop mark, the chop mark of publisher’s name and address and publication date “April Meiji 37 (1904)”are at the lower left corner of the left panel. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the print. The triptych is attached to an original Japanese Washi backing paper but ink bleeding can still be seen through the back of original Japanese Washi paper. Except for a vertical crease about quarter inch away from the left edge of the middle and right panels, which has been fixed by the original Washi backing paper, this ORIGINAL woodblock print triptych is in good condition. It is hard to find such a beautiful and rare ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print triptych signed by the Japanese Ukiyoe woodblock print master Asanuma in the public nowadays. This original woodblock print is definitely an incredible piece for collecting. Any credit card, visa, master card, bank and post office money order, cashier check and personal check are accepted.
