Large Original Japanese Woodblock Print Pencil-Signed Hioshi Nagai Withering in Winter 1972
This is an Extra LARGE very beautiful and special original Japanese woodblock print “Withering in Winter” Pencil-Signed by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Hiroshi Nagai (1911-1984) made in 1972 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is an original woodblock print about 48 years old. This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Arts collections. Print Size is 18 ½ x 12 1/2 inches, which is LARGER than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints. The artist’s Pencil Signature, the date this print was made (1972) and the title of the print in Japanese and English “Withering in Winter” are in the bottom border. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry paper. Four borders are intact. This original woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Any credit card, visa, master card, bank and post office money order, cashier check and personal check are accepted.
