Japanese Woodblock Print Hiroshige Tokaido Fifty-three Stations Maisaka Takamizawa Printmaker (52)

This is a very beautiful and romantic Japanese woodblock print “Station Maisaka” from the famous series of “Tokaido Fifty-three Stations” from the famous Edo artist Hiroshige Utagawa (1797-1858) published by the well-known Takamizawa printmaker made in Showa Era (1925-1978) IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This woodblock print is a classical representation of Hiroshige’s mastery of romantic scenery of Japan in Edo Era.  This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art. Print Size is 16 x 10 3/4 inches. The artist’s signature, publisher’s chop mark, the title of this series “Tokaido Fifty-three Stations” and the name of the station “Maisaka” of this print and a poetic travel emblem “True View of Imagire” are in the images of print while there is a publisher’s censor seal in the lower left border.  In addition, one publisher Takamizawa chop mark, one publisher name’s seal, carver and printer’s chop marks are in the back of the print.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on this original Japanese Washi paper.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry paper.  This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  It is hard to find a Hiroshige’s work published by the print maker Takamizawa in the public nowadays and it is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.  Shipping is $16 dollars anywhere in US via USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.  International shipping charges are US$28 through airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing.  We do combined shipping.  If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged.
