Huge Original Japanese Woodblock Print LIMIT# PENCIL Sign Kato Shinmei Maiko

You are bidding on a HUGE very beautiful and rare LIMITED-NUMBER (182/200) original Japanese woodblock print “Maiko” PENCIL SIGNED by the Showa woodblock master Kato Shinmei (1910-1988) made in 1960s IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an original woodblock print about 50 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them.  To see more on my family Japanese woodblock print and Asian art collection, please search for shinhangagallery.com on Google or enter shinhangagallery.com in your browser’s address bar.   Kato Shinmei is best known for his woodblock prints of flowers and Bijins.   The size of this woodblock print is 20 1/4 x 16 3/4 inches.  The artist’s signature and his chop mark are close to the middle left edge of the print while artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE is in the bottom border and title of the print " Maiko", chop mark of “Kato Original Woodblock Print”, carver and printer’s chop seals and the limited-number (182/200) are in the left border.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper. All four borders (margins) of the print are intact. This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  Please examine the photos.  If there are any questions, please ask before bidding.   It is hard to find an original Kato Shinmei’s work of such a beautiful scene in the public nowadays.  It is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.  Any credit card, visa, master card, bank and post office money order, cashier check and personal check are accepted.  Personal checks will take about ten days to clear.
