A Huge Orig Japanese Woodblock Print LIMIT NUMBER PENCIL SIGN Kitaoka Fumio Secret Yakushima Island 1995 Two Water Marks

This is a HUGE, very beautiful and rare LIMITED-NUMBER (artist proof) ORIGINAL Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print “Secret Yakushima Island” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock master Kitaoka Fumio (1918-) made in 1995 with two Water Marks in the top border.  This is an ORIGINAL woodblock print about 30 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family, which we are gradually selling.  To see more on my family Japanese woodblock print and Asian art collection, please search for shinhangagallery.com.   Kitaoka Fumio was born in Tokyo Japan 1918 and studied engraving in Paris from 1955 to 1956. From 1964 to 1965, he taught printmaking in Minneapolis Museum School of Art.  His work covers a broad range from black and white to color woodblock prints, and subjects from portraits to the abstract.  His woodblock prints have been collected by a lot of famous museums such as Tokyo Modern Art Museum, Boston Fine Art Museum and Modern Art Museum in New York.  The information of Kitaoka Fumio and the price of his woodblock prints can be found on the Internet.  The print size is 24 x 18 1/2 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints.  All four borders are intact.  The artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE, LIMITED-NUMBER (artist proof), title of the print “Secret Yakushima Island” and the publication date 1995 are in the bottom border.
