This is a HUGE very beautiful and rare original Japanese woodblock print “Geisha, Maiko” signed by the Showa woodblock print master Tateishi Harumi (1906-1994)  made In Showa Era IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.   This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family.  We are gradually selling them.  Tateishi Harumi is one of the most famous Showa woodblock artists, specializing in “Female Image”. His woodblock prints are highly searched for by collectors around the world.  The size of this woodblock print is 15 3/4 x 21 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  All four borders are intact.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of Japanese mulberry paper.   The artist’s signature and his chop mark are at the lower left corner of the print.  This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  It is hard to find such a Huge beautiful ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print from Tateishi Harumi in the public nowadays.  This woodblock print is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.
