A Great Orig Modern Japanese woodblock Print Hashimoto Okiie Kyoto Nijo Castle 1970s

This is a very beautiful, special Modern original Japanese woodblock Shin Hanga print “Kyoto Nijo Castle” signed by the Famous Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Hashimoto Okiie (1899-1993) made in 1970s.  This is an original woodblock print about 50 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, differently styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them.  Hashimoto Okiie is a famous Shin Hanga woodblock artist in the Showa Era.  Hashimoto Okiie was born in Tottori prefecture; studied at Tokyo School of Fine Arts; taught art and then became principal of Tokyo First Women’s High School until he retired in 1955 to devote all his time to print making.   He is well known for strong, colorful prints of gardens, castles, and nature scene.  He is as famous as Kawase Hasui and Hiroshi Yoshida. They opened a new Era of Ukiyoe and formed the core of Shin-Hanga.  Hashimoto Okiie’s work values at thousands of dollars and is highly searched for by collectors all over the world.  The information of Hashimoto Okiie life and the price of his woodblock prints can be found on Internet. This print size is 11 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. The artist’s chop mark is at the lower left corner of the print while artist’s signature, “modern woodblock print”, title of the print “Kyoto Nijo Castle” and publisher’s chip mark are in the bottom border.   Four borders are intact. This ORIGINAL woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper. Except for some very tiny wrinkles in the borders, which does not affect the images, this ORIGINAL woodblock print is in good condition.
