A Great Orig Japanese Woodblock Print Triptych Ikuhide Kobayashi Azumabashi Bridge Tokyo Famous Place 1888
This is a very beautiful and special ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print triptych “Tokyo Famous Place, Azumabashi Bridge” signed by the famous Meiji woodblock print master Ikuhide Kobayashi (active 1880-1898), made in April Meiji 21, which is 1888. This is an original Japanese woodblock print triptych about 130 years old. This woodblock print is a part of a large number of Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them. The three panels are separated. The size of each panel of this ORIGINAL triptych is 14 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches. The artist’s signature and his chop mark, the chop marks of the publisher’s name, address, and publication date April Meiji 21 (1888) are at the lower left corner of the left panel. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the print. The triptych is attached to an original Japanese Washi paper but strong ink bleeding can still be seen through the back of the original Japanese Washi paper. Except for a few very minor warm holes and some wrinkles, this ORIGINAL triptych woodblock print is in average condition. It is hard to find an original Japanese woodblock print triptych of such a beautiful and special scene signed by Meiji woodblock print master Ikuhide in the public nowadays and it is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.
