A great Orig Japanese woodblock Print LIMIT# PENCIL Hashimoto Okiie Castle of Pine 1959

This is a very beautiful, special and LIMITED-NUMBER (11/35) original Japanese woodblock Shin Hanga print “Castle of Pine” PENCIL SIGNED by the Famous Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Hashimoto Okiie (1899-1993) made in 1959.   This is an original woodblock print 61 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family, which we are gradually selling.  To see more on my family Japanese woodblock print and Asian art collection, please search for www. shinhangagallery.com. Hashimoto Okiie is a famous Shin Hanga woodblock artist in the Showa Era.  Hashimoto Okiie was born in Tottori prefecture; studied at Tokyo School of Fine Arts; taught art and then became principal of Tokyo First Women’s High School until he retired in 1955 to devote all his time to print making.   He is well known for strong, colorful prints of gardens, castles, and nature scene.  He is as famous as Kawase Hasui and Hiroshi Yoshida. They opened a new Era of Ukiyoe and formed the core of Shin-Hanga.  Hashimoto Okiie’s work values at thousands of dollars and is highly searched for by collectors all over the world.  The information of Hashimoto Okiie life and the price of his woodblock prints can be found at any search engine of Internet. This print size is 15 3/4 x 13 inches.   The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. The artist’s chop mark is at the lower left corner of the print and another printed signature is in the lower right border while the PENCIL WRITTEN LIMITED-EDITION (11/35), the title of this print “Castle of Pine”, the artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE, and the date this print was made 1959 are in the bottom border.  Four borders are intact.  This ORIGINAL woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper. Except for three minor foxing spots in the bottom border and a minor diagonal wrinkle at the lower left corner in the border, which does not affect the images, this ORIGINAL woodblock print is in good condition.  It is hard to find a LIMITED-NUMBER (11/35) original Japanese woodblock print of such a beautiful scene PENCIL SIGNED by the Showa woodblock print master Hashimoto Okiie in the public nowadays.
