Ukiyoe Japanese Woodblock Print Hiroshige Tokaido Fifty-three Stations
Description & History- This is a very beautiful and romantic Japanese woodblock print from the famous series of “Tokaido Fifty-three Stations” from the famous Edo artist Hiroshige Utagawa (1797-1858) published by the famous Takamizawa printmaker made in Showa Era (1925-1978) IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This woodblock print is a classical representation of Hiroshige’s mastery of romantic scenery of Japanese in Edo Era. This woodblock print is from Dr. Ben family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art.

Print Condition- The artist’s signature and his chop mark are at the upper left corner of the print while the titles of the series and print and a publisher’s chop mark are in the middle upper part of the print. There is a censor seal in the left border while the publisher Takamizawa chop mark and carver and printer’s chop marks are in the back of the print. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry paper. This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Shipping- Shipping is $12 anywhere in US by USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking. International shipping charges are US$22 through 1st class airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing. If you choose to mail by international priority mail with tracking and limited insurance, it costs around $50. We do combined shipping. If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged. All items will be shipped together.
