This is an EXTRA LARGE very beautiful and rare LIMITED-EDITION (116/200) original Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print “Old High School” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Masado Ido (1945-2016) made in 1975 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an original Masao Ido woodblock print about 43 years old.   This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them.  Masao Ido was born in 1945 and just passed away in 2016. He was one of the most famous modern Japanese woodblock print artists in Japanese.  The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Tokyo Fine Art Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York have collected his work.  Woodblock print collectors around the world have desperately searched for his woodblock prints.  Information on Masao Ido and the prices of his woodblock prints can be found on any search engine on the Internet.  Masao Ido’s signature and his chop mark are at the lower right corner of the print while the artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE, the PENCIL WRITTEN LIMITED-EDITION (116/200), the title of this print “Old High School”, and the date this print was made “75” are in the bottom  border.  The size of this original woodblock print is 17 3/4 x 12 1/4 inches, which is LARGER than the traditional Shin-Hanga woodblock prints.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. All four borders are intact.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper.
