Description & History- You are bidding on a HUGE, very beautiful, and special LIMITED-NUMBER (17/75) original Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print “Harvard University” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Japanese contemporary Shin Hanga woodblock print Master Kurosaki Akira (1933 - ) with the original EMBROIDER MARK “S.UGHIYAMA” made in 1975 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an ORIGINAL woodblock print about 41 years old.  This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art.

Artist- Kurosaki Akira (1933 - ). Akira Kurosaki graduated from Kyoto College of Crafts and Textiles. He has exhibited widely in and outside Japan, among others at the renowned print biennales in Maastricht, Tokyo, Krakow, Lubljana, Paris and Norway. The artist covers a wide spectrum of styles and techniques including abstract images. Works by the artist are in international museums like The British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of Modern Art (moma) in New York and the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. .

Print Size- The size of this woodblock print is 19 1/8 x 13 3/8 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin-Hanga woodblock prints. 

Print Condition- The size of this woodblock print is 19 1/8 x 13 3/8 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin-Hanga woodblock prints.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  Four borders are intact.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper.    The artist’s PENCIL SIGNED SIGNATURE “Kurosaki”, PENCIL WRITTEN title of this woodblock print “Harvard”, the year this print was made “75”, and the LIMITED-NUMBER “17/75” are in the bottom border.  At the lower right corner of the bottom border, there is a special EMBROIDER  MARK “S.UGHIYAMA”.   This original woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. 

Payment- Any credit card, visa, master card, PayPal, bank and post office money order, cashier check and personal check are accepted.  Personal checks will take about ten days to clear. Texas residents need to pay 8.25% tax. 

Shipping- Shipping is $16 anywhere in US by USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.  Due to the recent postage raise for the large dimension international mail, international shipping charges are US$35 through 1st class airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing. If you choose to mail by international priority mail with tracking and limited insurance, it costs around $50.  We do combined shipping.  If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged.
