A Huge Orig Japanese Woodblock Print PENCIL Sign Limit# Kitaoka Fumio Waterfall Rainbow 1972

This is a HUGE very beautiful, LIMITED NUMBER (91/100) original Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print “Waterfall Rainbow “ PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock master Kitaoka Fumio (1918-) made in 1972.  This is an ORIGINAL woodblock print about 50 years old. This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art. The size of this original woodblock Print is 25 x 18 3/4 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock print. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  All four borders are intact.  The artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE “Fumio Kitaoka”, the publication date “’1972”, title of the print “Waterfall Rainbow “and the Limited Number “91/100” written in PENCIL are in the bottom border.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.   This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry Washi paper.  Except for some wrinkles at the lower left corner of the print and a minor diagonal wrinkle at the lower right corner in the border, this original woodblock print is in average condition.
