A Great Orig Japanese Woodblock Print Triptych Kuniteru Original Edition Tokyo Suruga Town Meiji Restoration
This is on a very rare and special original Japanese woodblock print triptych “Tokyo Suruga Town after Meiji Restoration” signed by the famous Edo/Meiji woodblock prints master Kuniteru (active 1830-1874) bearing publisher’s ORIGINAL EDITION chop mark made in Meiji Era (1867-1912) IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is an original woodblock print triptych more than 150 years old. This woodblock print triptych is one of the core collections of many Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family and we are gradually selling them. The three panels are separate. The size of each panel is 9 1/4 x 14 inches. The artist’s chop mark, chop seal of publisher’s name and address and ORIGINAL EDITION chop seal from publisher are at the lower right corner of the right panel. This triptych is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of original Japanese Washi paper. This ORIGINAL woodblock print TRIPTYCH is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. It is hard to find an original Japanese woodblock print triptych of such a special and rare scene signed by the famous Meiji woodblock print master Kuniteru (active 1830-1874) in the public nowadays.
