A Great Orig Japanese Woodblock Print Original Edition Benji Asada Moon of Kyoto Kiyomizu Temple after Rain Uchida Print Maker Water Mark (2)

This is a very beautiful and colorful original Japanese woodblock print “Moon of Kyoto Kiyomizu Temple after Rain” signed by the Famous Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print artist Benji Asada (1899-1984) published by the famous woodblock print maker Uchida around 1930s bearing Uchida ORIGINAL WATER MARK IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  Benji Asada is a famous woodblock artist in the Taisho/Showa Era.  He is as famous as Kawase Hasui and Hiroshi Yoshida.  They opened a new Era of Ukiyoe and formed the core of Shin-Hanga.  Asada’s work is rare and is highly searched for by collectors all over the world.  Ninnaji was a great Shingon Sect temple.  The five-storied Pagoda on the grounds of the temple is a national treasure and the one hundred cherry trees planted around it are specifically famous as a place of historical interest and scenic beauty.  This woodblock print, which was made around the 1930’s, is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family.  We are gradually selling them.  The print size is 10 ¼ x 15 1/2 inches.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  The artist’s signature, title of this print “Moon of Kyoto Kiyomizu Temple after Rain”, and the publisher Uchida’s ORIGINAL PUBLISHER CHOP MARK are at the upper right corner of the print.  There is a “limited edition and reproduction is forbidden” chop mark in the lower left border of the print.  The UCHIDA WATER MARK is in the lower right bottom border. Colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper.   This ORIGINAL woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. It is hard to find an original Japanese woodblock print signed by Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Asada in the public nowadays.  This original woodblock print is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.
