A Great Orig Japanese Woodblock Print Kobayashi Kiyochika Burst into Flame, Fire night
This is a very beautiful and colorful original Japanese woodblock print “Burst into Flame, Fire Night on February 11th Meji 14” signed by the famous Meiji woodblock print master Kiyochika Kobayashi (1847-1915) made in Meiji 14, which is 1881 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is an original woodblock print about 140 years old. This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them. Kobayashi Kiyochika’s signature is at the lower left corner of the print while the publisher’s name, address and publication date are in lower right border. The title of this ORIGINAL woodblock print “Burst into Flame, Fire Night on February 11th Meji 14” are in the bottom border. All four borders are intact. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the print. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the Japanese mulberry paper. There is a small diagonal paper wrinkle in the bottom border, which I believe is from the Washi paper itself, not a defect, and has been there since the print was first made. This ORIGINAL woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Shipping is $16 dollars anywhere in US via USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.
