Japanese Woodblock Print Hiroshige Tokaido Fifty-three Stations Takamizawa Printmaker (17) 1960s

$ 39.00

This is a very beautiful and romantic Japanese woodblock print from the famous series of “Tokaido Fifty-three Stations” from the famous Edo artist Hiroshige Utagawa (1797-1858) published by the famous Takamizawa printmaker made in Showa Era (1925-1978) IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This woodblock print is a classical representation of Hiroshige’s mastery of romantic scenery of Japanese in Edo Era.  This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art. Print Size is 16 x 10 3/4 inches. The artist’s signature and publisher’s chop mark are at the upper left corner of the print while the titles of the series and name of this print are at the upper right corner of the print.  There is a censor seal in the lower left border while the publisher Takamizawa chop mark and carver and printer’s chop marks are in the back of the print.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry paper.  This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  It is hard to find a Hiroshige’s work in the public nowadays and it is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.  Any credit card, visa, master card, bank and post office money order, cashier check and personal check are accepted.  Personal checks will take about ten days to clear.  Texas residents need to pay 8.25% tax.  Shipping is $16 dollars anywhere in US via USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.  International shipping charges are US$25 through airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing.  We do combined shipping.  If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged.
