Huge Orig Japanese Woodblock Print PENCIL Limit# Kawanishi Yuzaburo Himeji Castle

This is a HUGE, very beautiful, colorful, rare and LIMITED-EDITION (23/150) ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print masterpiece “Himeji Castle” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Sosaku Hanga woodblock print master Kawanishi Yuzaburo (1923-) made in 1970s IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an original woodblock print about 40 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family.  We are gradually selling them.  Yuzaburo Kawanishi, the son of Hide Kawanishi, born in 1923, exhibited with Nihon Hanga Kyokai from 1942.  His woodblock prints have been collected by many famous museums around the world such as the Tokyo Fine Art Museum and Kobe Modern Art Museum, and have been highly searched for by collectors around the world.  Information about Yuzaburo Kawanishi and the prices of his woodblock prints can be easily found on Internet.  The size of this woodblock print is 21 x 15 1/4 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin-Hanga print.  The artist’s chop mark is at the lower left corner of the print while the artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE,  PENCIL written title of this print “Himeji Castle” and the LIMITED-EDITION (23/150) are in the bottom border of the print.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.  All four borders are intact.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of original mulberry Washi paper.  This ORIGINAL woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.   It is hard to find an original Kawanishi Yuzaburo’s masterpiece woodblock print in the public nowadays.  This woodblock print is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.
