This is a very beautiful, special and LIMITED-NUMBER (AP artist proof) original Japanese woodblock Shin Hanga print “Castle of Pine” PENCIL SIGNED by the Famous Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Hashimoto Okiie (1899-1993) made in 1972.   This is an original woodblock print 47 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, differently styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them.  Hashimoto Okiie is a famous Shin Hanga woodblock artist in the Showa Era.  Hashimoto Okiie was born in Tottori prefecture; studied at Tokyo School of Fine Arts; taught art and then became principal of Tokyo First Women’s High School until he retired in 1955 to devote all his time to print making.   He is well known for strong, colorful prints of gardens, castles, and nature scene.  He is as famous as Kawase Hasui and Hiroshi Yoshida.
