This is a very beautiful and special original Japanese Erotic woodblock print “Shunga” made in Taisho Era (1915-1927) IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is an original woodblock print about 90 years old.  Shunga is ancient Japanese erotic art.  Most of the Shunga we see today are pages from old books at sizes around 5 inches.  Most original individual Shunga are collected by private collectors and are hardly ever displayed today.   The only ones I have ever seen in public were at a museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands.  Like most Shunga, this woodblock print does not have the artist’s signature on it.   The size of this woodblock print is 13 3/4 x 10 inches.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the Japanese mulberry Washi paper.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers.
