Orig. Japanese Woodblock Print Triptych Tsukioka Yoshitoshi Tagoshima Battle (2) Meiji 10 (1877)

This is on original Japanese woodblock print triptych of “Tagoshima Battles” by the Famous woodblock artist Yoshitoshi Tsukioka (1839-1892), made in March 26th Meiji 10, which is 1877 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This is a very colorful and beautiful original Japanese woodblock triptych about 142 years old. It depicts a battle between Takoshima rebels and government military forces during the Meiji Period. The three panels of this triptych are separate. The size of each panel of this triptych is 14 ¼ x 9 1/4 inches.  The artist’s signature and his chop mark, the publication date and the original price in Meiji 10 (six cents) are at the lower left corner of the left panel while the publisher’s name and address are at the lower right corner of the right panel.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the print.  The triptych is attached to a very thin original Japanese Washi backing paper to prevent it from tearing and forming wormholes. This ORIGINAL woodblock print triptych is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  It is hard to find such a beautiful and special original Japanese woodblock print triptych signed by the famous Meiji woodblock print master Tsukioka Yoshitoshi in the public nowadays.
