A Huge GreatJapanese Woodblock Print PENCIL Sign LIMIT Number Inagaki Tomoo Sitting Cat 1982 (1)

This is a HUGE, beautiful and special LIMITED-NUMBER (294/600) ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print “Cat” signed by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Inagaki Tomoo (1902-1982) with an artist’s EMBROIDERED MARK made in 1982.  This woodblock print is about 45 years old.  This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them.  Information on Inagaki Tomoo and the prices of his woodblock print can be easily found on Internet.  The size of this woodblock print is 15 x 22 3/4 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper.  The artist’s signature and his chop mark are at the lower right corner of the print while the LIMITED-NUMBER (294/600) and date this woodblock print made in1982 are in the bottom border. The artist’s EMBROIDERED MARK is in the right of bottom border.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry paper.  Four borders are intact.  Except for some little and light foxing spots in borders, which do not affect the images, this woodblock print is in good condition.
