A Great Japanese Woodblock Print Hiroshige Utagawa Romantic Moon above Willow River , Series “Sixty-nine Stations of Kisokaido Street”

$ 99.00

This is one of the most famous Japanese woodblock prints “Moon above Willow River” from the famous Series “Sixty-nine Stations of Kisokaido Street” from the famous Edo artist Hiroshige Utagawa (1797-1858) published in 1950S IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This woodblock print is a part of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family.  We are gradually selling them. The size of this woodblock print is 15 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the prints.  The four borders (margins) of the woodblock print are intact.  This print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding through can be seen from the back of the Japanese mulberry paper.   The artist’s signature and chop mark are close to the middle right edge of the print while the series title “Sixty-nine Stations of Kisokaido Street” and station name are at the upper left corner of the print.  The publisher’s chop mark and the carver and printer’s chop marks are in the lower right border.  As far as I can tell there are no defects, foxing, or stains, this woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  I believe this woodblock print is an early Showa’s re-cut made around 1950s.   It is hard to find this kind of beautiful work from Hiroshige in the public nowadays and it is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.  Shipping is $16 dollars anywhere in US via USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.  International shipping charges are US$28 through airmail WITHOUT insurance, buyers will have to assume all the risks during the mailing.  We do combined shipping.  If more than one item is purchased at the same time, the highest shipping cost will be charged.
