A Great Japanese Woodblock Print Hashiguchi Goyo Maiko with Lipstick
This is a very beautiful and rare Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print “Maiko with Lipstick” from the famous Shin-Hanga woodblock print artist Hashiguchi Goyo (1880-1921) published by the famous printmaker YuYuDo in 1970s IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art. The artist’s signature, his chop mark, and the date that this print was made “February Taisho 9 (1921) are close to the left edge of the print while the printmaker YuYuDo’s chop mark is in the lower right border. There is another YuYuDo publisher chop mark; carver and printer’s chop marks are in the back of the lower left edge. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper. All four borders are intact. This woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Shipping is $16 anywhere in US by USPS priority mail with insurance and tracking.
