A Great Huge Orig Japanese Woodblock Print PENCIL Sign LIMIT number Inagaki Tomoo Two Characters of Cat
This is a HUGE, beautiful and special LIMIT-NUMBER (27/50) ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print “Two Characters of Cat” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Inagaki Tomoo (1902-1982) made in 1980s. This is an original woodblock print about 30 years old. This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. We are gradually selling them. Information on Inagaki Tomoo and the prices of his woodblock print can be easily found on Internet. The size of this woodblock print is 17 3/4 x 24 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin-Hanga woodblock prints. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper. The artist’s chop mark “Tomo” is at the lower left corner of the print while his artist’s PENCIL SIGNATURE “T. Inagaki” and PENCIL Written title “Two Characters of Cat” and LIMITED number “27/50”are in the bottom border. This original woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry paper. Four borders are intact. Except for some minor fading about the edition number in the bottom border, this ORIGINAL woodblock print is in excellent condition.
