This is a very beautiful and special ORIGINAL Japanese woodblock print “Woman Combing Hair” PENCIL Signed by the Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Okuyama Jihachiro (1907-1981) made in July Showa 35, which is 1960 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is an original woodblock print about 60 years old. This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art. The artist's chop mark is at the upper right corner of the print. The artist’s Japanese PENCIL Signature and publication data July Showa 35 are in the lower right border while the artist’s English signature and Japanese title of this Original woodblock print are in the bottom border. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper. This ORIGINAL woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry Washi paper. Four borders are intact. This ORIGINAL woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. It is hard to find an original Japanese woodblock print of such a beautiful and rare scene signed by the famous Showa woodblock print master Okuyama Jihachiro in the public nowadays.
