A Great Large Orig Japanese Woodblock Print PENCIL Sign 1960 Okuyama Jihachiro Self-Carve Wakanoura (7)

This is an EXTRA LARGE very beautiful and special Self-Carved original Japanese woodblock print “Wakanoura” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print master Okuyama Jihachiro (1907-1981) made in 1960.  This is an original woodblock print more than 60 years old.  This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art.  To see more on my family Japanese woodblock print and Asian art collection, please search for shinhangagallery.com on Google.  The print size is 19 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock prints. The artist’s chop mark is at the lower left corner of the print while the artist’s PENCIL Signature, title of the print “Wakanoura” and the date this print was made “1960” are in the bottom border. Another PENCIL title in Japanese and artist’s SELF-CARED Pencil signature are in the left border.  The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the original Japanese Washi paper.  This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Mulberry Washi paper.  Four borders are intact.
